Generation Resource Procurement

KPP works with its members to prepare energy and demand forecasts and perform generation resource planning. KPP has entered into the Jeffrey Energy Center power purchase agreement as well as contracts to procure wind energy from the Greensburg Wind Farm and the Marshall County Wind Farm. Additionally, using the commitment of its membership, KPP has acquired ownership of 62 megawatts of the 600-megawatt Dogwood Energy Center combined-cycle facility. These generation resources, in combination with KPP members’ power purchase agreements and member-owned generation allow KPP to meet its members’ needs with a versatile portfolio of generation resources. This broad mix of generation resources provides KPP members with protection from relying too heavily on any one type of generation or generation fuel.
